About Me
I am a sex educator and sex therapist. I hold a doctorate in human sexuality studies and a masters in counseling psychology. I am also an author, writer, and guest speaker/lecturer. I am currently the columnist for playgirl.com, writing their Psychology of Sex column. In other chapters of my life I was a podcaster, filmmaker, sex toy sales associate, and radio/TV producer. With a career spanning the gamut in human sexuality, one thing has never changed - I love talking to, and with, people about intimacy, sex and relationships.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 109150) my approach to therapy is similar to how I approach my life. It's a bit eclectic, but full of zest, compassion and curiosity. I provide traditional talk therapy from a psychodynamic approach, utilizing various techniques from a myriad of theoretical models including attachment theory and object relations, as well as couples training in PACT, Imago, Gottman and the Developmental Model. I am passionate about working with clients around their connection to themselves and others, as well as their relationship to gender and sexuality. I am incredibly comfortable working with clients whose sexual orientation, behavior, relationship styles and identity fall anywhere on the spectrum from traditional to alternative.
I am a current member of SSSS and AASECT.
